Watch Rafael Nadal, the X-Men and Kia save the Aussie Open
Rafa Nadal has been a Kia ambassador since 2006, and he’s just signed on for another five years. At the announcement, the tennis player said, ‘KIA Motors has become a top car brand and I have seen many great changes and improvements through the years. It’s been great fun working with the team over the last nine years.’
The collaboration has led to some entertaining advertising promoting the Kia’s brand and will see Rafa continuing to take part in Kia’s international events, such as motor shows as well as the Kia Australian Open tennis championship. Speaking of which, watch him and his Kia Sorento save the Aussie Open in this Kia/X-Men ad.

Thomas Oh, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at KIA Motors Corporation, commented, ‘Rafa has been the perfect partner for KIA, helping us elevate the brand on a global scale. He epitomises vibrancy and dynamism in everything he does – characteristics we try to include in every KIA model. We’re incredibly excited to continue this collaboration for at least five more years.’

Oh, you were hoping for some shirt-off action? Here you go:
Some of the commericials have been a little bizarre…
But I guess that sums up ‘the power to surprise’!
According to the Forbes 2014 list of most powerful celebrities, Nadal was the 9th highest-paid athlete in the world, his earnings from winnings and endorsements totalling more than $45-million.
$45-million? It’s life, Jim, but not as we know it.
