Woman wins regional kart racing Championship race!
Fabienne Lanz, experienced kart racer from Midrand, won the first Regional Championship race of 2016 – in the prestigious Senior Max class at Zwartkops.
We got a chance to interview Sandra Stammova about her career as professional female motorcyclist.
After qualifying on pole position, Fabienne had a strange opening race in the three-race Senior Max category, dropping to third place before muscling back into second.
Although races two and three were straight down to business, as Lanz made no mistakes and took first place from Joshua Dias – winner of the first race and Delon Thompson.
The Queen of drag racing – Shirley Muldowney!
Women racers are making their mark on regional kart racing, with the ultra-competitive Senior Max category seeing Shannon Jackson claim fourth place over fellow female driver, Ivana Cetinich. As well as Chandre Bothma, a relative newcomer to Senior Max racing, finishing ninth, concluding a good day’s racing for the ladies!
