Volkswagen launches the Golf SV in South Africa
Volkswagen has decided to bring its Golf SV (Station Wagon as known in Europe) to South Africa. It is the second body variant of the seventh-generation Golf and you can clearly see it’s a Golf. It is 48mm longer than its sibling hatchback and 8mm wider and 126mm higher.
It has a boot capacity of 500 litres, the Golf hatchback has 380 litres to give you an idea of how much more space there is. If you move the rear seats forward you get an extra 90 litres and if you fold them down flat you are looking at 1 520 litres.
It comes with an array of safety features and is offered in two trim levels, Trendline and Comfortline. Standard features on the Trendline include SD card reader, CD player with 5-inch colour touchscreen, a front armrest, dual rear ISOFIX fittings, seven airbags, a flat tyre indicator, multifunction steering wheel, font and rear electric windows, a full alloy spare wheel, airconditioning and black rood rails. The Comfortline adds front foglights, rain sensor, electrically adjustable and heated side mirrors and silver roof rails.
The Sv is powered by a range of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol engines have Stop’Start technology and you have a choice of eith the turbocharged 1,2-litre 81 kW or 1,4-litre 92kW. The diesel engines is a 2,0-litre with 81 kW of power.

The Golf SV model range comes standard with a 5 year/90 000km Service Plan, 3 year/120 000km warranty and a 12 year anti-corrosion warranty. Service Interval is 15 000km.
