Where do all the car seats for kids go?
What do you do with your old car seats once the kids are all grown up?
Last month (March 2016) the Bakwena N1N4 toll road, in partnership with Wheel Well, held a successful Car Seat and Child Safety Activation campaign on the Bakwena N1 North route at the N1 Total Petroport.
The event focused on how to keep children safe in and around cars, with particular emphasis on using the correct car seat. Motorists without car seats could get one from Wheel Well in exchange for a small donation and assistance with installing the car seats correctly was also provided.
However with a high demand for car seats, which Wheel Well is not yet able to meet, members of the public are invited to donate their second-hand seats. Car seats can be dropped off at the Wheel Well shop in Bright Water Commons, Randburg or any Renault dealership.
All second hand car seats are refurbished and checked for defects before being re-donated to those who can’t afford a new seat.
If you’re unable to make the trip, arrangements can be made to have the seats collected by Bakwena. Anyone wishing to donate second hand car seats to Wheel Well can visit [email protected] for more details or phone 011 519 0400.
