National Child Passenger Safety Week – keeping children safe in cars
National Child Passenger Safety Week (17 – 23 September, 2017) is coming soon.
dotsure.co.za, an online car insurance product of Oakhurst Insurance, together with the NGO Wheel Well, are showing how much they care for South Africa’s youth by continuing to highlight the critical importance of child passenger safety in motor vehicles.
dotsure.co.za and Wheel Well will once again be setting up a high-visibility joint operation within a school parking area where parents will be informed about National Child Passenger Safety Week and the road safety legislation which states that all passengers must be safely buckled up. Both organisations strongly believe that this law cannot be ignored.
As part of the cause, dotsure.co.za is urging all parents, caregivers, teachers and parents-to-be to visit their website or Facebook page for all the necessary information. “We have to focus on the Road Safety aspect of Children’s Rights to Safety, during National Child Passenger Safety Week. Children are our most vulnerable road users and it is our duty as drivers to look out for them and make sure they remain safe as passengers and pedestrians,” says Peggie Mars of Wheel Well.
dotsure.co.za is a passionate advocate of child passenger safety and are also continuing to run free school talks in Gauteng where they educate children about the importance of buckling up. All interested nursery schools, preschools and primary schools should contact dotsure.co.za in order to schedule a school talk.
If you too are passionate about saving lives, and if you own a child car seat that you no longer use, we ask that you consider donating it to a deserving family. Please contact NGO Wheel Well, 0723857121 or 073 3937356. Wheel Well will safety check, clean and refurbish all donated seats before passing them on to families in need.
