Awesome new app for carpooling
Cape Town entrepreneurs, Sipho Ndimande and Chris Megan, have been waiting for smartphones to come of age in order to launch their new carpooling app, UGoMyWay.
Using carpooling to ease congestion
The aim of the app is to help solve traffic congestion on our roads, which as we know, has become a nightmare over the last few months.
With a much higher volume of traffic lately many road users have taken to social media to try and organise their own carpooling groups.

How is this different from regular cab companies?
In addition to sharing road journeys and costs the app encourages subscribers to interact and engage with one another.
On Tuesday (15 March 2016) Chris Megan told Cape Talk Radio that the solution is to make better use of our road networks and allow people to connect and team up via technology.
“We want users to find other people who share the same regular road journeys and to provide a safe mechanism for them to be able to open up a chat or dialogue with each other and then share the ride.”
Users also have the ability to make use of the app’s cost-sharing option.
Match with similar road users
When asked what sets UGoMyWay’s solution apart from other transport companies, Sipho Ndimande said, “We’re not like another Uber or cab service. We’re a free downloaded app (available on Playstore) that helps you connect and find other people around you who use the journeys as you and to save petrol”
While there are a few similar apps world-wide UGoMyWay is the first local solution.
Chris Megan also discussed the issue of safety and mentioned various safety functions built into the app.
UGoMyWay is available on Google Play Store.
