Scoot over car, it’s time for the scooter!
Let’s face it, we’ve all had that fantasy of riding around in a vintage-looking scooter… in Rome of course, but why not right here? Scooters are a great way to cut down on fuel costs, it saves a lot of time you would have spent sitting in traffic and it’s very eco-friendly. Plus, there are plenty of modern, cute scooters to choose from! The weather is a bit merciless for scooter-driving at the moment, but it will soon be springtime so you can drive around in the quaint city streets.
Nowadays, the scooter designs are more girl-friendly, the automatic gear-change system makes it easy to drive and the selection of stylish helmets means you don’t have to look like like a geek in those old-fashioned helmets.
It’s a no-brainer if you live and work in the city. You wont wait hours in traffic and you can scoot yourself into small spaces instead of driving around and searching for a parking area. Of course, it’s not just fitted for the city. It can be perfect if you live outside of the city as well.
You can hit the road and go on lovely day-trips, and it won’t cost you an arm an a leg with these fuel prices, plus you can meet new people by joining a scooter club which you will be able to find either on Google or on Facebook.
It might be wise to hire first, and see if the scooter-lifestyle suits you. If it does, then you are probably looking to buy. It’s important to remember that cheap is often pricey over time. An expensive scooter may cost more at the outset, but will probably offer durability, a longer expected kilometre life, and cheaper maintenance costs in the long term.
