Would you drive your car this close to a tornado?

Here in South Africa we are lucky enough to not experience the devastation of tornadoes, but I imagine that if we were warned against one, we would take cover and not venture out to film it. Or would we?

This video shows a tornado that hit Wray in Colorado over the weekend and storm chasers got closer than we feel comfortable with. We think you will feel the same. According to NBC, at least five people sustained injuries and the tornado was almost a kilometre wide.

Storm chasing is quite a thing in the States, remember the movie Twister, and if this video is anything to go by you have to wonder why. Sure, it must be a thrill, but I don’t think my nerves would quite be able to stand it.
