Garmin’s new safety initiative is pretty impressive

Over the last couple of years there have been unacceptably high numbers of accidents occurring on roads across South Africa, drivers need to be vigilant and alert.

Therefore, Garmin has partnered with Pick ‘n Pay to present a series of ‘Stay Alert Stay Alive’ TV features, so motorists and bikers can focus on being safe and alert whist on the roads.

The “Where Am I?” feature is found across all Garmin nuvi products, So motorists need not worry if their vehicle runs out of petrol away from home. Garmin provides advanced GPS technology with software that locates the nearest petrol station by using the “Where Am I?” feature.

In addition Garmin’s range of Automotive Technology is equipped with Bluetooth compatibility, which enables hands-free calling when nuvi in synced with a Smartphone.

Biker’s also need to remain vigilant and focused whilst moving through the traffic and past other vehicles on the road. Zūmo is a GPS navigator designed for bikers, by bikers. These units come with large, bright touchscreen displays which are glove-friendly, so bikers can pay attention on the road. This way bikers can also do more to ‘Stay Alert Stay Alive’.
