Video: 2014 Toyota Corolla review
It has dominated the compact sedan segment for as long as we can remember. The Toyota Corolla is now in its 11th generation and WOW’s very own Juliet McGuire attended the local launch. Here she gives us her thoughts on this popular car.
Juliet speaks about the 1,4 D-4D Turbodiesel which is a first for the Corolla lineup and is in fact the only diesel on offer. It has a claimed fuel consumption figure of 4.5 l/100km which is impressive to say the least.
The range consists of 11 different models, with 4 engine choices, including the option of a 1,3 1,6 or 1,8 petrol. Toyota offers a five year/90 000 km service plan and 3 years/100 000 km warranty with all Corolla’s. This 1,4D Prestige will cost you R249 900, which when you consider space, spec and economy on offer, is not bad at all. The 1.8 Exclusive Multidrive S is R283 900.
The new Corolla will be available in a choice of seven exterior colours, of which three are new to the model range: Seaside Pearl Metallic (light blue), Avant-Garde Bronze and Grey Metallic.
Sprinter models are cosmetically differentiated by means of 16-inch smoked alloy wheels, a rear spoiler and unique Sprinter badging.
It’s great family car with ample boot space and a smooth ride. Toyota have certainly upped their game with this Corolla and we expect it to continue to sell like hot cakes.
