What does your car say about you?

It’s often observed that dog owners look like their furry friends. So, does the same go for drivers and their cars? Choosing a car is ultimately a reflection of our values, personalities and taste. Whether you base your car-buying decision on looks, engine size, eco-friendliness, or even its sound system, no matter how much you argue, your car will always say something about who you are as a person.

We’ve all done it in the 5 o’clock traffic on the way home from work: made assumptions about the person behind the wheel of the car in front. It’s a little disconcerting how your assumptions are often right. The luxurious Range Rover Vogue is driven by the snooty glamour-puss. The cute retro Fiat 500 is driven by the alternative, vintage-inspired woman. Even though we are ‘judging books by their covers’, we can’t help but think there’s something to this. Here are some of the coincidences that we’ve noticed…

–  Minis are usually driven by small women, who too are mini

– New Beetles are often driven by girly girls but old ones are driven by grungy guys.

–  Vintage convertibles are usually driven by older men (perhaps because only savings can afford these beauties).

–  Big trucks like the Nissan Navara are driven by muscular men (look out for those cars ladies!)

–  Large, practical cars and station wagons are usually driven by the practical mother with a family.

Have you noticed any other car/owner coincidences? Are you like your car? If you think so, post a picture of your and your car on the WOW Facebook page!
