Motorists again warned about the N2 “Hell Run”
EWN reports that motorists are being warned against the notorious N2 Highway in Cape Town due to a spike in incidents where bricks and stones have been placed. Especially between Somerset West and Cape Town which has been dubbed the “Hell Run.”
According to the report, the Safe N2 Project says several motorists making use of the N2 have been forced to stop and pull over near Somerset West to change damaged tyres. Motorists have reported bricks and stones were placed on the road surface over the past two days.
Just yesterday cars had to stop near the Macassar turn off at the very spot that Hawks warrant officer Petrus Holz was murdered last year when he stopped to change two flat tyres.
The Safe N2’s Neil Slater said: “For the last two days we have had an increase of our members notify us that they have seen objects on the road.”
We urge motorists to read our safety tips for driving on the N2 and
please make sure you have the correct emergency numbers on hand before driving on the N2.
