Ducati and Lamborghini co-create the ultimate superbike

We have all come to accept the fact that in 2020, nothing is impossible and nothing can shock us. We can, however, be pleasantly surprised and extremely exhilarated, to hear that two Italian motoring giants have collaborated to create the ultimate speed machine.

World, meet the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini. This Ducati superbike is based on the Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, and was made to celebrate the car manufacturer’s founding in 1963. As expected it is a limited edition bike and only 630 units were produced.

“Painted to match Lamborghini’s Sián FKP 37 ‘Gea Green’ with forged rims and accessories in ‘Electrum Gold’ and ‘Ducati Red’ accents, the Diavel 1260 Lamborghini is a guaranteed to command attention. Each bike comes branded with the number 63 to honor Lamborghini’s founding in 1963. Multiply that by 10 and you’ll get the total number of bikes in production: 630. Each one is meticulously numbered, making this limited-edition bike a true collector’s piece,” Ducati said on Facebook.

The bike runs from 0-100km/h in 2.5 seconds, beating out the powerful Sián by 0.3 seconds.

Each unit can be customised – Ducati calls it a “masterpiece of exclusivity, design and innovation”. The bike has a starting price of $31 995 (R489 702).
