Rent your car out and get paid
Rent your car and get paid with RentMyRide
If you’re thinking of selling your car or you can’t afford your car payments then a new car sharing service that allows you to rent your car and get paid might interest you.
How it works
Owners list their cars via the site including all details and photos of the car on the RentMyRide website. Availability of dates are specified by the owner. The service notifies the owner when someone is interested in renting the car and the owner can then check out the potential renter’s profile and ratings before deciding on whether to rent the car.
The renter then meets the owner who shows them around the car, checks the mileage and fuel level and if everyone’s happy, the owner hands over his/her keys to the renter.
Owners are asked to rate the renter after the car has been returned.
What if something happens to the car?
The service covers you and your car with a R10 000 000 liability insurance policy when your car is rented out. Each renter is screened under strict eligibility criteria and you as the owner of the vehicle decides who you rent it to and for how long.
According to the RentMyRide website, insurance is comprehensive and includes 24/7 roadside assistance and support.
The service is set to launch in Cape Town before spreading nationwide.
