Here’s how much the new Opel Corsa will cost

Opel’s new fifth-generation Corsa is expected to go on sale in South Africa in early 2021. With a number of radical changes, this model will be markedly different from its predecessors.

The new model’s compact hatch shift will focus on Peugeot architecture instead of its traditional General Motors platform, a change brought about when Peugeot Société Anonyme (PSA) bought Open in 2017.

In fact, the new model will be more similar to the new-generation Peugeot 208, which will also reach South Africa in 2021.

According to motoring information specialist Duoporta, the new Corda will come in two derivatives: the 1.2 Edition and 1.2 Elegance models. The cars will cost R290 000 and R350 000 respectively.

Both models will feature Peugeot’s three-cylinder PureTech petrol motor, as well as outputs of 55kW and 118Nm.

Standard features in the 1.2 Edition include a touchscreen infotainment system, manual air conditioning, cruise control, multi-function steering wheel, six airbags, traction control and rear park distance control.

The Elegance model will have the above, as well as partial leather upholstery, a panoramic roof, rain-sensing wipers, 16-inch alloy wheels and a reverse camera.
