Joburg Flying Squad tracks down hijackers yet again
Kempton Express reported that the Joburg Flying Squad tracked down another hijacked car that was stolen in Ivory Park earlier this month and allegedly used for robberies. The silver VW Polo was tracked down in Kempton Park CBD On Tuesday by the members of the Flying Squad.
According to Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesman for Kempton Park Police, the flying squad officers received information about the stolen Polo, which was reported stolen at Ivory Park SAPS.

Mtshali stated that , “The officers traced the movement of the vehicle through its tracking device and established it was in Kempton. They drove from Joburg and cornered the suspects on Wolff Street.”
“Upon searching the vehicle, an unlicensed firearm was found in the suspects’ possession. It was also established that the vehicle was stolen during a hijacking in Ivory Park this month.”
He said the car might have been used in a number of incidents where victims were followed from a bank and robbed. The three suspects all between the ages of 20 – 30 have been arrested and are now facing charges.
