2015’s must-have car features
Every year there are new cars being launched, but with the launch of new cars also comes updated tech and cool features. The trend this year when it comes to car features and tech are safety and entertainment – all a woman needs in her ride, right?
Here is a list of must-have car tech features that highlight the automotive progress of the new age:
Touchscreen Infotainment
Instead of having loads of buttons which can possibly sometimes cause clutter and confusion, the infotainment touchscreen system is minimalistic, stylish and easy to use. They also enable far richer features than traditional layouts, including graphically rich navigation maps and album notes for songs. A central touchscreen normally controls audio and other functions, including phone, climate control, navigation and vehicle settings.
Parking Assist
Parking assist is offered from a basic from to a much more intense parking assistance system. The most basic form of parking assist is a set of proximity sensors (either rear or front and rear) that make a noise when you’re about to hit something. Some automakers are offering self-parking systems that can find a suitable space and park the car automatically. Awesome!
Auto Stop/Start
An auto stop/start system automatically turns the engine off when the car is braked to a halt and turns the engine back on again when you take your foot off the brake. This is great for fuel-saving as cars burn an insane amount of fuel when the car is idling. If you know you’ll be sitting in traffic a lot, be sure to opt for this cool feature!
In-Car Connectivity
In-car connectivity is usually a data connection in your car’s dash board that allows you to have Wi-Fi access for compatible devices. The Internet is the lifeblood of so many contemporary activities; it just makes sense to have it at your fingertips whenever you’re in the car. However, this doesn’t mean you now get to text and drive! That is still dangerous.
