Porsche electric car by end of the decade!
Porsche is set to spend around a billion euros in order to develop the first Porsche electric car, with plans to release it by the end of the decade.

The new Porsche electric car will be a production version of the recently developed Mission E Concept. The plan is to remain true to the heritage and produce a performance vehicle with 0-100 km/h in under 3.5s! With more efficient driving conditions, the new Porsche electric car is expected to deliver a range of more than 500 km on a single charge.
Porsche stated that as a cure for the typically slow recharge times, a specially developed charger will refill the Porsche electric car’s lithium-ion batteries. Being able to charge it to sufficient power for 80% of the maximum range, in around 15 minutes.

“With Mission E, we are making a clear statement about the future of the brand. Even in a greatly changing motoring world, Porsche will maintain its front-row position with this fascinating sports car,”
said supervisory board chairman Wolfgang Porsche.
The motor industry in Germany is still trying to catch up to the star of the electric vehicle market, Tesla. The US firm has no rival at the premium end of the electric car segment.
