The Nissan Terra is coming to SA

Off-roaders can gear up for a new kid on the 4×4 block: The Nissan Terra is bound for South Africa this year.

The seven-seater has a four-wheel lock, electronic locking rear differential and hill descent control, similar to leading competitors Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest. The 2.5-litre petrol engine drives this big boy and it comes with a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Not only can it walk the walk, it looks cool too. With C-shaped LED headlamps and LED taillights, the vehicle is as modern as it is tough. The interior includes a touch screen display, smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and an Intelligent Around View Monitor.

Known as the X-Terra in the Middle East, the SUV’s South African name was shortened for convenience.

“The all-new X-Terra demonstrates how sophistication and ruggedness can coexist,” says Thierry Sabbagh, MD, Nissan Middle East according to Times Live.

“The all-new Nissan X-Terra 2021 is designed for adventures, with a roomy interior and advanced technologies to ensure safety and comfort, and empowers customers to go anywhere, beyond boundaries.”

The Terra is expected to reach South Africa in the final quarter of 2021.
