Three Carrol Shelby Signature Series Mustangs for sale in South Africa

Just 50 of the new Carroll Shelby Signature Series Mustangs will be built. While the majority of these beautiful muscle cars will be for sale on the US market, Shelby South Africa has confirmed that three will be for sale here.

Pricing is subject to fluctuations in the exchange rate, but for now, the base rate may cost local drivers R2 708 000. This includes the base car, which is a right-hand drive, and buyers will be able to choose between a fastback and convertible body, as well as manual and automatic transmissions.

The Carroll Shelby Signature Series Mustang is powered by a heavily modified and supercharged version of Ford’s 5-litre V8 petrol engine, which can push out around 600kW. It also has a Borla exhaust system with four custom exhaust tips fitted to ensure it sounds like a signature Shelby product.

The aerodynamic design package includes a metallic ram air bonnet, wide-body aluminium fenders, a unique front bumper with performance front splitter, side rocker panels, rear spoiler and a diffuser with a new tail panel inserted between the rear lights. It also rolls on unique 20-inch black alloy wheels and a new Brembo brake system with six-piston callipers in the front and four-piston callipers at the back.

“The limited edition 2020/2021 Carroll Shelby Signature Series Mustang is the ultimate combination of exceptional design and amazing brawn,” says Shelby President Gary Patterson. “From its refined yet functional styling to its poised handling and awesome power, along with its performance capabilities, this Shelby is the automotive equivalent of a champion fighter that looks as good in a tux as in the ring.”

Conversions for South African models will be performed at the Mod Shop in the Western Cape.
