Toyota reveals the updated Hilux Raider bakkie

Toyota South Africa revealed its updated Hilux range in October 2020 and has now released some extra information about the Raider line-up which has replaced the previous SRX range.
The Raider has the same front-end design as the previous Hilux (basic S and SR models), but the new chrome detail of the grille frame is specifically a Raider design. No more 18-inch wheels, the Raider now has a graphite-colour 17-inch with 265/65 R17 tyres.
Raider models have two engine specifications, a 2.4-litre (Global Diesel) GD-6 and a 2.8-lire GD-6. The 2.4-litre engine boasts 110kw with 400Nm torque, while the 2.8-litre GD-6 delivers 150kw with 500Nm torque.
New Raider model upgrades include Park Distance Control, side curtain airbags, (the previous Hilux had driver and passenger airbags) and full LED headlights and taillights. The drivetrain of the Raider boasts an Auto Limited Slip Diff (LSD) giving more traction in low-grip terrains. The 2.8 GD-6 comes with standard features such as cruise control, reverse camera and an air-conditioned glove box.
The 2.4 GD-6 is available in 4×2 and 4×4 configurations with a choice of either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission and the 2.8 GD-6 is available as a 4×4 mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.
An 8-inch infotainment screen accommodates both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also includes a navigation system. Users can also access their music libraries and streaming music accounts like Apple Music, JOOX, Spotify and SoundCloud.
All Hilux models have an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot and complimentary 15GB data. Once linked the customer can manage their vehicle with the MyToyota App. Service bookings can be made, you may search for vehicle information and history and much more.
All models come with a 3-year/100 000 km warranty, a 9-services/90 000 km service plan and customers can purchase extended service plans and warranty packages with Toyota dealerships.
