Jaguar Land Rover to cut 2000 jobs around the world

Jaguar Land Rover confirmed on Wednesday, February 17, that it would be cutting two-thousand non-factory jobs globally.

Bear in mind, this announcement was made just a few days after it was confirmed that Jaguar would be an all-electric brand by 2025 and six fully electric e-models would be launched by 2030.

According to Reuters, the company sent an emailed statement saying, “The full review of the Jaguar Land Rover organisation is already underway.”

“We anticipate a net reduction of around 2,000 people from our global salaried workforce in the next financial year.”

It also added that the organisational review did not impact hourly paid employees of the manufacturer.

Jaguar currently faces the same challenges as other carmakers due to chip shortages. The manufacturer is moving to an all-electric future but wants its models to have the same feeling and power as an engine model would have.

Tata Motors is greatly concerned about the semi-conductor shortages and Brexit-related supply as its car sales are still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
